Ingredients
2 packages BOTH burgers (4 patties)
1 bunch romaine lettuce
4 slices, favorite cheese (Colby + Monterey Jack)
1 red onion, sliced
1 bag, favorite buns
1 avocado
1 tomato, sliced
1 jar pickles, ovals
1 bottle Thousand Island dressing
Step 1:
Prepare toppings. Slice onions, tomatoes, and avocado. Put aside.
Step 2:
Pre-heat the grill, 400 degrees. Hit the grill spray so your grates are well lubed. BOTH patties can be cooked from fresh (slacked) or frozen. No difference in outcome, just cook time. If fresh, likely 4-5 minutes per side. If frozen, likely 5-6 minutes per side (depending on temperature). The key is caramelization. Make sure to get some nice browning on both sides. Cook thoroughly! Your patties are done when you can press down on them with your grill spatula and no moisture (or just a little bit) releases. Add cheese the last 1 minute or so of cook time. Because of the moisture content in the mushrooms and onions, these patties are naturally juicy and hard to overcook, fyi
Step 3:
Open your buns, and place face down on the grill. Heat for 1-2 minutes, get them nice and toasty.
Step 4:
Craft your favorite build, and enjoy with a nice cold beer.
